Dato Dr Shahrulazua Ahmad is currently practising at ParkCity Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur. He was formerly a Senior Lecturer and Arthroscopic Sports Surgeon at the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Hospital (2006-2009) as well at the National University of Malaysia Medical Centre (UKMMC) (2009-2015).Dato Dr Shahrulazua graduated from St. Bartholomews and The Royal London Hospitals School of Medicine, England in 1997. He completed his housemanship at Essex County and subsequently did his basic surgical training rotations at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. He received his Membership of Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh (MRCS Edin) in 2001. He then became a clinical fellow to Mr A Cole (Shoulder) and Mr JW Tice (Knee) at University Hospital Southampton, England in 2002 before coming back toMalaysia to complete his specialty degree of Master in Orthopaedic Surgery at Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2006. He further did his subspecialty arthroscopic sports surgery training at the Malaysian Military Hospitals under Maj. Gen. (R) Dato Dr Mohammad Amirrudin, and then a fellowship inShoulder and Elbow Surgery at Khung Hee University Hospital under Prof Yong Girl Rhee.Thereafter, he continued his training at Macquarie University Hospital in Sydney, which consisted of one-year of shoulder and elbow fellowship (under the supervision of Prof J Bokor, Assoc Prof M Haber, Assoc Prof K Piper and Dr D Duckworth) and one-year of hip and knee fellowship (under the supervision of Assoc Prof JA Sullivan, Dr B Zicat, Dr M Al-Muderis, and Dr R Sorial). He was awarded the degree of Master of Advanced Surgery (Orthopaedic: Shoulder; Knee) by the Australian School of Advanced Medicine, Macquarie University in 2014.
